Tapiwa has over 16 years’ experience in financial reporting and business consultancy. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA). He trained with Coopers & Lybrand and also has experience with Ernst & Young and Andersen locally and regionally. Internationally Tapiwa has worked in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Tapiwa’s experience includes exposure to large listed and public sector entities. Industry experience covers financial & professional services, mining, manufacturing, tourism, and transport amongst others. 
 
Tapiwa is a member of the Accounting Practices Committee (APC) of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Apart from being a member of SAICA, Tapiwa is also a member the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). In 2007 Tapiwa served as a member of the GAAP Monitoring Panel (GMP) of the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE).
 
Tapiwa is a co-author of several books on IFRS and IFRS for SMEs which are distributed globally.
