Online Session - Understanding the similarities and the differences of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs Venue Online - Microsoft Teams Date Tuesday 15th April 2025 Time 11:00 - 14:00 Information The IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard became effective in 2009 and has been adopted by many companies around the world as a simplified financial reporting framework for companies who do not have public accountability. The 3rd Edition of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard was issued in February 2025. While the IFRS for SMEs shares many similarities with full IFRS Accounting Standards which served as the starting point for the recognition measurement and disclosure requirements of the simplified framework there are also many differences that have emerged as a result of the various cost-benefit considerations and other simplifications that the standard-setters sought to achieve. This course compares the two frameworks by highlighting the areas where the requirements are similar as well as those areas that are significantly different.
